Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spotted at Etihad Stadium for Man City Women vs Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showed his support for Manchester United Women as he was spotted in the stands at the Etihad Stadium on the opening day of the new WSL season.

United were taking on local rivals Manchester City in their first match in the top flight infront of a record-breaking crowd at the Etihad.

City won the Continental Cup and FA Cup double last season and finished second in the league, giving Casey Stoney's side a tough opening to life in the Super League.

United were runaway leaders in the Championship last term in their first season since reforming, and were recognised at the club's end of season awards for their achievements.

And the level of support between United teams continues as men's first team manager Solskjaer was present at the Etihad on Saturday.

Solskjaer does not have a game to take care of himself due to the international break, and chose to make the short trip to City for his weekend fix of live football.

Solskjaer was among an expected record crowd for a top flight women's game with over 20,000 tickets sold. However that record is set to be beaten tomorrow when Chelsea host Tottenham infront of around 40,000 fans.
