Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sets Manchester United challenge ahead of Man City fixture

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged Manchester United to turn their fortunes around when they take on Man City next week.

United were thrashed 4-0 by Everton on Sunday afternoon as their hopes of Champions League qualification suffered a massive setback.

Richarlison struck early on before goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott secured the three points for Everton on Easter Sunday.

United now need to secure positive results against both Man City and Chelsea if they are to have any hopes of a top-four finish this season, and Solskjaer is eager to put things right.

Although the manager acknowledges it is a tough ask to turn their fortunes around, he has urged his supporters to back his side ahead of Wednesday night's clash at Old Trafford.

"We know it's a big task and work to be done," he told Match of the Day. "We have to do it together, we have to get on with it because this is not good enough.

Manchester United fans are furious at 'lifeless' and 'pathetic' display vs Everton

"You have got to start somewhere and we will give it everything we have got with the last four games - massive games with City and Chelsea coming to Old Trafford - that's where we get the best support in the world.

"We can turn it around, in football like in life things can change quickly. We have got to change it from bad to good.

"We need a game of football as soon as we can as we need to get this out of the systems, everyone here can say with hands on hearts that's not good enough, not worthy of a Manchester United team. We know that and apologise again to fans."
