Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sets Man Utd points target in race for Premier League top 4

Manchester United will need to win every single one of their remaining Premier League fixtures to qualify for the Champions League, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils hopes of reaching the top four took a gigantic hit on Sunday when they were thrashed 4-0 by Everton at Goodison Park.

Toffees stars Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott all bagged as Solskjaer's men received an embarrassing loss.

The defeat was United sixth in their last eight matches, having suffered a huge hangover after their famous Champions League victory over Paris Saint Germain last month.

Losses to Wolves , Arsenal and now the Merseyside club have seen them drop two points behind Arsenal in third.

The gap to the top four could grow further if the Gunners beat Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon, or if Chelsea , who are currently fifth, defeat Burnley on Monday night.

And Solskjaer has set a points target United need to hit to overtake the Gunners, the Blues or Tottenham.

"We’re way off where we want to be," Solskjaer told Sky Sports. "When you lose in the league like we did here, everyone sees that we have a big job to do.

Everton 4-0 Man Utd: 5 talking points as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men thrashed at Goodison Park

"This club has been down before, we’ve just got to pick ourselves up. It might not happen overnight, but it's going to happen.

"You want to see the team express themselves. The goals were easy, we were sloppy on the ball. We cannot hide, we just have to step up and say we have to improve.

"We have to win all four games, then we might have a chance [of finishing in the top four]. It’s a big ask, but we can do it. We can’t just talk about it, we’ve got to do it."

United still face Manchester City , Chelsea, Huddersfield and Cardiff this season.
