Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set for more embarrassment as Liverpool's Jadon Sancho plan emerges

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be further embarrassed if Manchester United fail to sign Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.

Solskjaer watched his team get battered 6-1 by Tottenham this weekend, and the United boss is under pressure to strengthen his squad before the transfer window slams shut this Monday.

Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani are expected to sign for the Red Devils before the deadline, but the player Solskjaer really wanted to get his hands on has escaped his grasp.

Sancho was strongly linked with a move to United before the window even opened, and the Red Devils were confident they would be able to snap him up.

But Dortmund outlined their demands early on, telling United they will only consider selling if their £108million valuation was met.

The Red Devils cooled their interest, hoping BVB would soften their stance and that they would be able to swoop for Sancho at a later date.

But Dortmund merely doubled down in the press, presenting Manchester United with a 'take it or leave it' style proposal.

United have all but accepted they will not be signing Sancho this window, and according to reports from Spain, this may be a boast for Liverpool.

According to Mundo Deportivo, United missing out on Sancho has opened the door to Jurgen Klopp's side snapping him up next season.

The Reds have been unable to compete with United this summer due to financial constraints brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

But Liverpool will likely be in a much better position next season, and on a level playing field with United in which to compete for Sancho's signature.
