Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged the club’s fans to protest peacefully ahead of their game against Liverpool.
The Reds travel to face their old rivals at Old Trafford on Thursday night in the rearranged fixture after the original match was postponed due to fan protests against the Glazer ownership.
Both sets of players and staff from Liverpool and Man United were forced to remain in their hotels before the original fixture at the start of this month.
Man United face Leicester City this evening in the Premier League, before a quick turnaround sees them face Liverpool around 50 hours later.
Images have circulated on social media which appear to show Man United already boarding up sections of the Old Trafford exterior in preparation for further protests, should they occur.
Speaking ahead of his side’s game against Leicester, Solskjaer has urged fans to not resort to violence should they decide to protest against the Glazer ownership once more.
"Security measures are being looked at and I hope we can keep the protests, if there are protests, keep them down to loud voices and nothing violent," Solskjaer told ESPN .
"We want to listen, the players want to play the game, we're playing Liverpool and of course we want to beat Liverpool and we want to beat Leicester so we're going to do everything we can for our fans to celebrate what we're doing on the pitch."
ESPN also report that travel arrangements are being made for the players to arrive at Old Trafford on Thursday, which decoy buses being set up to make sure they get to the stadium safely and on time.
