Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sends congratulations to Man City on winning Premier League title

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sent a message of congratulations to Manchester City.

The Blues were crowned Premier League champions on Tuesday night after Leicester beat United, meaning it became mathematically impossible for any side to catch City at the top of the table, which ensured the club their third league title under Pep Guardiola.

Celebrations around Manchester for all City fans have now begun, with some supporters gathering outside the Etihad to show this all-conquering side their appreciation, while the red side of the city once again looks on in envy.

After United's 2-1 defeat to Leicester at Old Trafford, Solskjaer took a moment to send City congratulations, though.

"If we want to take up the challenge with them we need to strengthen our squad," Solskjaer said.

"Congratulations to them. They have had a fantastic season. I am very pleased with my boys that have made it to the last 10 days with a Manchester City side ahead of us that are lauded as the best in Europe.

"We want to take the next step [to bridge the gap to City] and it might be that we need a couple more to strengthen the squad."
