Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tactic that makes Romelu Lukaku 'ready to leave Man Utd'

Romelu Lukaku seems set to leave Manchester United because Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants make his attack more mobile next season.

The Belgian forward has scored 42 goals in 96 United appearances ever since joining the club from Everton in July 2017 for an initial fee of around £75million.

But after being a regular in the starting lineup for previous boss Jose Mourinho - the manager who signed him - he lost his place in the team to Marcus Rashford when Solskjaer took over from the Portuguese in December last year.

Although Lukaku produced a brief flurry of goals in late February and early March, notching a run of braces against Crystal Palace , Southampton and Paris Saint Germain in successive appearances, they were his only strikes in his last 20 games of the campaign for United.

He kept up his rich international form for Belgium though, and scored three goals across their international matches against Kazakhstan and Scotland in the past week.

After the game, Lukaku talked up a potential transfer to Italy and praised new Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte.

“It’s good to see Conte has joined Inter. For me he is the best manager in the world," he said.

“I’ve already taken a decision about the future but I can’t reveal it because I have a contract with Manchester United and because I respect the club.

"I am a big Serie A fan, those close to me know that I have always wanted to play in the English league and in the Italian one, I love Italy.

"And then Cristiano Ronaldo arrived, Sarri will go to Juventus , Ancelotti is at Napoli, it will be an exciting Serie A.

"The club and my agent will talk about it but I have already made my decision.”

Lukaku has often been criticised for his first touch while at United, while he's also faced criticism from United legend Gary Neville over his fitness levels.

Having confirmed the signing of Welsh youngster Daniel James from Swansea, United are now on the lookout for another fast, mobile forward to supplement their attack along with Rashford and Anthony Martial.

ESPN FC claim that, while the club aren't interested in looking at a deal for Gareth Bale, Solskjaer is considering the likes of Lille's Nicolas Pepe, Lyon forward Moussa Dembele and Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser.
