Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's son responds to Jose Mourinho comments after Manchester United defeat

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's son, Noah, admits he saw the funny side after a war of words between his father and Jose Mourinho at the weekend.

Manchester United manager Solskjaer got one over his Old Trafford predecessor when his side came from behind to beat Tottenham 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

United's win was one of the sweetest victories ever recorded under the Norwegian as Solskjaer's side overcame a controversial end to the first-half which saw them have a goal harshly ruled out before soon falling behind.

Speaking after the match Solskjaer criticised Tottenham goal scorer Son Heung-min for the manner in which he went down after being caught by Scott McTominay in the build-up to Edinson Cavani's disallowed goal.

“We shouldn’t be conned. I have to say, if my son stays down for three minutes and he needs his 10 mates to help him up, he won’t get any food,” he said.

Solskjaer's comments enraged Mourinho who took the criticism as a personal attack on the South Korean forward. “Sonny is very lucky his father is a better person than Ole," the Tottenham manager hit back.

"I am a father and as a father you have to always feed your kids, it doesn’t matter what they do. If you have to steal to feed your kids, you steal. I’m very, very disappointed.”

Now it is Noah's turn to wade in on the argument and he joked that his father always gives him food, before suggesting Mourinho was using the comments as an excuse to deflect from his side's defeat.

“Yes, I laughed well on Sunday. I always get food. I can assure everyone about that,” Noah told local Norwegian newspaper Tidens Krav.

“Yes, Max [Williamsen] asked me if I had been given food when he met me before training today. I had never been lying down the way Son did. Mourinho probably just wanted to take the focus away from the fact that they had lost."
