Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had no problem with Anthony Martial's unhappy reaction to being substituted in Manchester United's record-setting win at Aston Villa, even adding that it was "great" to see the Frenchman so angry.
United won 3-0 at Villa Park to become the first club to win four successive Premier League matches by at least a three goal margin, matching a record that was last set by Liverpool in 1987.
Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba scored the visitors' goals, with Martial left angry that he hdn't got on the scoresheet when he was replaced by Odion Ighalo in the 79th minute.
"He’s not happy! He wants goals," said former United defender Gary Neville on Sky Sports' commentary of the match at the time.
"He’s fuming in fact – which is a good sign.
"Do you think he wanted a goal? I think so. Fuming. But that is a good thing. That’s the classic centre-forward’s approach. You can win 3-0 and some of them, if they don’t score, they’re still not happy."
When asked about Martial at full-time, Solskjaer said he was happy to see his centre-forward upset.
"Anthony is getting fitter and fitter and he could have lasted the game, of course, and he’s starting every game," he told reporters.
"I’d be more worried if he wanted to come off!
"Everyone wants to be a part of the team, everyone wants to be on the pitch, and he’s put a shift in.
"So [his reaction] is fine. It’s great for me to have him available to start every game."
In a separate chat with MUTV, he added: "Brilliant all day today, pressing, unlucky not to have scored – that will come though.
"And it’s great to see him unhappy when he comes off, because I want players who want to be on that pitch with their teammates."
