Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has issued a "no sulkers" message to Donny van de Beek following his antics on the Manchester United bench during their 2-1 victory over Villarreal in the Champions League on Wednesday.
With the score currently tied at 1-1, Van de Beek was furious as Solskjaer prepared to introduce Fred instead of subbing on the Dutchman, and cameras caught the midfielder throwing a tantrum as he threw his chewing gum and bib in protest.
The midfielder arrived from Ajax for £40million in 2020 but has found life hard at United, seeing his playing time numbered, and van de Beek's frustrations are starting to show.
Despite the frustrations, Solskjaer addressed this incident ahead of United's clash against Everton on Saturday and warned Van de Beek about his conduct.

The United boss said: "You know, I manage a squad full of international footballers, competitive footballers who want to make a difference, who want to play. They all want to be on the pitch, of course they do.
"Donny was ready to come on, as all players should be. I've been a sub more than anyone in this club probably - I must have a record appearance as a sub - and you have to be ready all the time.
"I've been not very happy a few times but that is the decision the manager makes.
"Alex [Telles] was coming off as a left-back and Fred did that job well. So I understand the frustration, of course, every player is keen to play, that's got to be built into energy and determination for when you get on and show me."

Solskjaer admitted that the Dutchman is not alone in this position and hinted to the midfielder that his negativity will not get him anywhere.
The United boss said: "It's not just Donny, it's players, I've got a squad of internationals and if we're going to be successful we need positive energy, no sulkers.
"Donny has never affected his teammates negatively. As soon as I see players affecting the team negatively then that's a different scenario and I'll probably be firmer."
United face Everton on Saturday and Rafa Benitez' side were one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in signing an unhappy van de Beek towards the end of the summer transfer window, but a deal failed to materialise.
The Dutchman has made it clear that he wants to fight for his place, but frustrations are getting the better of him and perhaps a potential loan move in January could work for Van de Beek just as it did for Jesse Lingard last season.
For now the midfielder must be patient, and make the most of his opportunities when they are given by Solskjaer.
