Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has highlighted a “key lesson” for Manchester United after they threw away a 1-0 lead against Everton.
The Red Devils have had a poor start to the season despite a relatively easy run of fixtures.
Despite pulling ahead late into the first-half, United could not protect their lead and were eventually pegged back.
Everton's Andros Townsend finished off a sweeping counter-attack and then proceeded to celebrate by imitating Cristiano Ronaldo’s infamous celebration.
After the poor performance, manager Solskjaer highlighted a key lesson his team need to learn going forward.
The Norwegian said: "We didn’t concede many chances today but we conceded a goal so we had to deal with a couple of moments, we didn’t.
"They break and counter-attack and outmuscled so we should’ve cleared it but that's in every game in the Premier League, you can work every day on system and defending but it has to be dealt with there and then.”
This is not the first time this week Solskjaer has come out and criticised systems and tactics of football, citing other things of more importance in games.
He added: "We gave them a few counter attacks, I don’t know the stats but I know we had the ball most of the time, they didn’t play through us at all really. They counter-attacked that was the same Wednesday night [vs Villarreal]."

"We have to be better when to risk it how not to be counter-attacked that’s a key lesson today because they do create big chances from quick breaks.
"We weren't too open, we had enough players behind the ball but we didn’t deal with the ball, the tackles when we should have, good goal by them but when they counter from one side the goal is going to happen from the other side so we just didn’t regroup and reorganise well enough."
United have looked vulnerable in transition this season, something some put down to a team bloated with attacking players and lacking discipline in the middle.
The Red Devils pulled ahead thanks to a 43rd header from Anthony Martial who made a rare start on the left for United.
He finished off a good team move, but their lead only lasted until the 65th minute when Andros Townsend scored and celebrated in spectacular fashion.
Townsend, who signed on a free after he left Crystal Palace, has impressed so far this season and finished an Everton counter-attack against a toothless United.
Everton have continued their good start to the league under new boss Rafael Benítez and now find themselves level on points with United.
United used the summer transfer window well to put themselves in a position to push higher than just a top-four finish.
However, Solskjaer’s team have looked adrift and unconvincing in their early games.
