Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's four word answer when asked if he is right man for Manchester United job

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer laughed off a question asking whether he is the right man for the Manchester United job after a draw at Huddersfield extended their poor away run.

United have now lost five and drawn one of their six away fixtures since beating PSG in the Champions League at the Parc des Princes, and have won just twice since Solskjaer was appointed permanently almost two months ago.

The feel-good factor that Solskjaer fostered during his caretaker spell has quickly evaporated, and the lacklustre Huddersfield draw confirmed that United will play Europa League next season.

It is now a huge summer ahead for Solskjaer, with fans demanding improvements to the squad and under-performing players sold or released.

There have even been muted questions aimed at Solskjaer's ability - albeit in comparison to a large majority whose criticisms are aimed at the hierarchy at United rather than the management team.

But that didn't stop a reporter asking Solskjaer in the aftermath of United's draw at Huddersfield if he was still the right man for the job.

Solskjaer understandably looked slightly bemused by the question, and laughed it off, before answering: "Of course I am."

The United manager then gave the reporter a wink.

It is not the first time Solskjaer has been asked whether he should be manager or not - with the same question levelled at him after United's 4-0 defeat at Everton.

Gary Neville launches scathing attack on Manchester United squad

“Well I would like to say yes but it's not down to me to say that,” he said at the time.

“I'm confident in my team and myself. I’ll be ready to take this challenge on. I know it's a big challenge and that’s why, when I came in here, I said I'm going to enjoy every single second. I don't like losing but it's a challenge all the managers at this club have had.

“When you go through bad results, you’ve got to be confident enough to say this is the way we're going to do it and plan ahead.”
