Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals mood in Manchester United dressing room ahead of Newcastle fixture

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits the mood at Manchester United is low after the poor start to the season.

United have won just two games in the Premier League, and their victories over Astana and Rochdale were hard-fought in the Europa League and Carabao Cup respectively.

Solskjaer has a number of injuries to key players that have disrupted the ability to build any momentum, but performances so far have yet to live up to the standard the manager set when he first arrived at the club.

But Solskjaer has told Sky Sports a win at Newcastle - which would be the first on their travels since beating PSG last season - would give his squad a boost going into the international break.

"Of course you don't enjoy not winning games," he said.

"That's what you put your heart and soul and life into this club when you become part of it and you want us to do well.

"In this job when you win games, your mood's better, of course it is, and you're happier.

Explaining how United don't necessarily need to be at their best as long as they get the three points on Sunday, Solskjaer continued: "It doesn't mean your performance are great but results change moods. So for us to get a result is vital now.

"It will change the mood and the boys will go away in the international break as well and freshen up their heads."
