Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals how many points Man Utd need to make top four

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United face an uphill battle to qualify for next season's Champions League.

United wasted a golden chance to put pressure on their top four rivals but were beaten 2-1 at Molineux.

Scott McTominay fired the visitors into the lead but Diogo Jota pulled one back before a calamitous Chris Smalling own goal gifted Wolves the win.

United also had Ashley Young sent off as they were beaten at Molineux for the second time this season.

Solskjaer thinks he knows what United will need from their remaining games to make the top four and accepts it will be a battle.

Solskjaer said: “We need 15 points from the last six games now so we don’t have much room for losses.”

“I don’t think there’s been a kickback after the good results or any kind of re-setting.

“It’s football and that’s why we love it. Their keeper had a fantastic game. We missed a lot of good chances. You can’t control the result when that happens.”

On Young's red card, the United boss added: "When you are already on a yellow there’s always a danger of that happening.

“I think it was a bad decision on Ashley’s part. It was a little bit too high and I think Ash would have liked to have stayed on his feet.”

Wolves now head to Wembley for their FA Cup semi-final and boss Nuno said: “To beat United twice is an amazing feeling, but there’s no secret

“The preparation starts now for the semi-final - we will rest and prepare for a difficult game. It’s a fantastic challenge for us.”
