Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals honest chats with Manchester United's players

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken about the 'open' conversations he had with Manchester United players in the aftermath of that humiliating defeat to Liverpool.

United will look to address their poor Premier League form today (Saturday) when they face Tottenham (5.30pm kick off).

However, following a devastating result that might still have drastic consequences for Solskjaer and his position at the helm, the Norwegian still finds him under pressure.

Solskjaer has come out fighting during the build-up to facing Tottenham.

Now, with kick-off fast approaching, the under-pressure Norwegian has alluded to a saying from his home country when outlining honest chats between himself and this misfiring United team.

United are set to welcome back Raphael Varane and Antony Martial from injury in north London, but Paul Pogba is going to miss out through suspension after he was sent off against Liverpool.

Speaking to the official United website, Solskjaer said: "We've got to be, how do you say? In Norway we have an expression; 'The distance to the ceiling has to be high'.

"It has to be a room where we can say things openly without it coming back or coming out. We need to sort things out on the pitch, that's what it's about. Nothing is personal, because they all want to do their best and they all back each other. They know they need each other, the players."

Solskjaer added: "It makes me feel proud that I'm a Manc. [Support] is just what they do and what they've always done. I've been here for 18 years now at the club, working in some capacity.

"I've been away for a few years and been a fan from afar and they always do it, they always back the team. When you walk outside, you come to expect they support the team all the time, they're brilliant."
