Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Roy Keane's "shocked and saddened" Man Utd claim

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he feel the ups and downs of Manchester United's form as much as anybody as he responded to ex-teammate Roy Keane's opinion of his former club last weekend.

Sky Sports pundit Keane laid into United during their 2-0 defeat to West Ham last weekend, claiming that he was "shocked and saddened" by the state of the Red Devils .

United lie 11th in the Premier League table ahead of Monday night's visit of Arsenal , with Solskjaer having overseen two wins, two draws and two defeats in their season so far.

They needed penalties to battle past League One Rochdale in the Carabao Cup in midweek, but Solskjaer says he is as determined to win matches as anyone, including Keane.

"Why wouldn't you be angry when you lose a game? Of course you're angry within," the Norwegian told Sky Sports when reminded of Keane's comments last weekend.

"That's one thing; you put pressure on yourself, and you're competitive. I want to win every single training session.

"I wanted to beat Roy in cards on the team coach! But I don't show it to everyone.

"Maybe the ones who know me the best will see how I feel. I can't go out [like that], I manage my way, and lead the players my way, and I lead these players the way I deem to be right, and what's said in the dressing room is said in there, and it stays there."

United welcome a Gunners side who currently sit eighth in the table on Monday night, with the game being seen by many as an indicator of just how far both have fallen from the top of the table.

Solskjaer has said that he will check on the fitness of forward Marcus Rashford ahead of the match.
