Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Raul Jimenez to Manchester United transfer speculation

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he would not comment on speculation linking Manchester United with a move for the Wolves forward Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez emerged as a half-time substitute for Wolves during Saturday's dour FA Cup draw at Molineux and struck the woodwork from a tight angle as both sides searched for a winner.

Solskjaer was asked in his post-match press conference whether United are interested in recruiting Jimenez in January.

"Another good player that we've been linked with," Solskjaer said of the Mexico international. "Loads of players are linked with us, he came on and did really well today but I can't comment on these speculations."

Senior United sources derided the Jimenez speculation that emerged from his homeland.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo was also asked about the report and responded: “First-time I heard it. Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] didn’t mention anything about that.

"The transfer window is open. When it is open anything can happen. As managers we have to be ready because anything can happen. We are very happy with Raul.”
