Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Bruno Fernandes to Man United transfer update amid Spurs links

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been coy over the possibility of Manchester United signing Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window, amid strong links with the Tottenham Hotspur target.

The Portuguese midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United reported to be closing in on a move for the Sporting Lisbon star.

Bruno Fernandes has also been linked with a move to Tottenham and some supporters having a transfer theory following the announcement of Gedson Fernandes' shirt number in north London.

The Sporting Lisbon man was heavily linked with Spurs in the summer, and although a move failed to materialise, the speculation over his future has continued, with Tottenham once again linked with him this month.

However, Manchester United are thought to be in pole position to sign the 25-year-old, with the Red Devils tipped to complete a move for the Portuguese star this month.

But amid reports that the deal for him to join United could now be at risk, Solskjaer has refused to discuss how close United may be to signing Fernandes.

Indeed, the Red Devils boss gave a short answer in response to a question about the Portuguese midfielder at his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Liverpool this weekend.

"I can’t tell you about any players that play for other teams, no," he said.

"We’re focusing on this team at the moment."
