Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refutes claim that Manchester United squad isn't playing for him

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a strong answer when asked if Manchester United's players were still playing for him.

United have endured a tumultuous few weeks under Solskjaer and, after losing 4-2 against Leicester on Saturday afternoon, the external pressure on the Norwegian increased to yet another level - the Reds' poor form continued against Atalanta, too.

Solskjaer's side started slowly and found themselves 2-0 down at the break against the Italian side, however, goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo - the latter scored the match-winner - completed a sensational comeback.

After the game, Solskjaer was asked if United's players were still playing for him following a difficult run of results.

The United boss laughed and answered with a strong but effective response.

"Don't disrespect the players," Solskjaer sharply responded to BT Sport.

"They play for Manchester United and they know they are the luckiest men in the world.

"Tonight they are the luckiest men in the world because they get to play for Manchester United.

"That is what so many millions of boys and girls want to do."
