Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides injury updates on Marcus Rashford and Eric Bailly

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly will not play again this season.

The Ivorian made his first appearance since the Champions League win over PSG in February as United drew with Chelsea .

But Bailly lasted little over an hour before he injured his knee in a challenge with Mateo Kovacic.

Bailly had to be helped off the pitch and was later seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches and wearing a leg brace.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he will need a scan on the problem but Bailly won't play again this term and may now be a doubt for the Africa Cup of Nations.

“He will need a scan tomorrow but I don't think it is the worst knee injury you can have," Solskjaer said.

“He will be out for the rest of the season, I don't think we will see him again before next season.

”But he is a warrior, he played well today, he was calm, he was composed and it was just unfortunate that he had to come off.“

How Man Utd's 1-1 draw with Chelsea affects Premier League top four race

Marcus Rashford was also forced off with an injury during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

The England star had to be replaced by Alexis Sanchez in the 65th minute due to a shoulder problem.

Solskjaer admits he is now a doubt for United's clash with Huddersfield next weekend.

"Rashy’s struggled with his shoulder and he came through an hour, but couldn’t do more," he said.

The draw leaves United in sixth in the Premier League table with Solskjaer's men looking set to miss out on a place in the top four.
