Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted Manchester United 'didn't regroup or reorganise well enough' against Everton.
United started brightly against Everton on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford and they took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Anthony Martial's expertly taken first-time strike - the Frenchman's goal suddenly vindicated his surprise selection.
Everton were a constant threat with counter-attacks, though, and they eventually found an equaliser through Andros Townsend.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba had entered the field from the bench, United looked devoid of creativity in attack and Ronaldo's reaction to the draw - storming off down the tunnel after full-time - was telling.
"Parts of it was really good, I thought we started well," Solskjaer told BT after the game.
"High energy and we created some good openings and scored a fantastic goal. Coming into half-time at 1-0 and you’re pleased.
"In the second half, we lacked that cutting edge to get the second which is vital in a game like this because from a corner that we have, we conceded five seconds later, so that was a disappointment.
"No, we weren’t too open. We had enough players behind the ball, but we didn’t deal with the ball when we should’ve had. It was a good goal by them but when they counter at one side, the finish is going to happen from the other side.
"We didn’t regroup or reorganise well enough."
