Ole Gunnar Solskjaer outlines Amad Diallo plan vs Everton as he sets selection deadline

Amad Diallo could be set for first team involvement in Manchester United's clash with Everton this weekend.

The teenager, who was signed in the summer, joined up with his new team-mates in January having been allowed to remain at Atalanta for the last six months.

United paid £37m for the Ivorian who is highly-rated and caught the eye on his debut with the U23s.

The Red Devils stuck six past rivals Liverpool with Diallo grabbing a brace including a panenka penalty.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not short of attacking weapons having seen his side smash nine past Southampton on Tuesday night.

But as Diallo is integrated into the first team the Norwegian is considering making him part of the matchday squad on Saturday.

"We will make a decision on Amad in the week [on] what he does at the weekend – if he’s in our squad," said Solskjaer.

"It depends on many factors, if we have injuries or Covid. You never know, but he might be playing on Friday [for the U23s] but yeah. I will make a decision on Thursday."

Diallo has preferred to play from the right which allows him to drift in and use his left foot.

United already have Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial battling for wide berths.

Two of the three scored in their 9-0 demolition against the Saints with Solskjaer full of praise for his side's efforts.

He said: “We moved the ball really well, quickly. We used the width, we had movements in behind.

"We had strikers who wanted to get on the end of it scoring goals - even had full-backs wanting to be on the end of it.

"It was one of those performances you once in a while get and you enjoy."
