Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that the Red Devils may look at bringing in a striker in the January transfer window, following the injury sustained by Marcus Rashford.
The Red Devils' forward has suffered a double stress fracture in his back, and is facing an extended spell on the sidelines, with reports that he could miss up to three months with the injury.
United have been linked with a number of different strikers in the January transfer window, including the likes of Edinson Cavani, Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele, who have also been attracting interest from Chelsea.
And the United manager has admitted to the BBC that the injury to his key man may force a move in the market.
"We’re always looking at chances to improve the squad," he said.
"With Marcus out for a while we have to look at it closely."
Solskjaer also spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live following the 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield, with the United boss opening up about the impact of Rashford's injury on his squad.
“It happened against Wolverhampton. He will be out for normally about six weeks before you can get going," he said.
“You don’t want to have your best players injured, but you can never ever protect yourself against them.
“Of course he is vital for us, it might open up a loan deal or two, a short-term deal, because it is an important player.
“We will keep on working."
