Ole Gunnar Solskjaer & Man United handed triple boost in the race for a Champions League spot

Manchester United will be back in action on Tuesday evening as the Champions League race really starts to heat up.

The Red Devils have been in tremendous form following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in place of Jose Mourinho and he was given the job on a permanent basis last week.

The Norwegian celebrated with a 2-1 win over Watford at Old Trafford at the weekend, thus seeing them move level on points with Spurs in third.

Arsenal do have the chance to move above them on Monday evening providing they don't lose against Newcastle United, although United can move into third 24 hours later if they beat Wolves at Molineux.

Well, Solskjaer has been handed a big boost regarding three players ahead of the clash against the FA Cup semi-finalists.

Victor Lindelof was absent against the Hornets on Saturday with the manager revealing he had 'some issues' but he is set to return on Tuesday.

Anthony Martial, who scored in the win against Javi Gracia's men, will also be good after picking up a knock, with Romelu Lukaku also set to be ready after a recent foot problem.

"Anthony will be fine, he’s going to be okay," Solskjaer told the club's official website.

"Victor has had a good few days of training now so he’ll be ready.

"Apart from that, [Matteo] Darmian and Eric [Bailly] are still out.

"[Antonio] Valencia is still out and Alexis Sanchez is still out. But it’s a good strong squad."

He added: "Anthony and Romelu will both be ready for tomorrow, definitely, unless they break down in training today [Monday] but it looks good, yeah."

Looking set to miss out on the top four prior to his appointment in December, Solskjaer has done an incredible job of getting his team up the table in recent weeks.

While it will still be tricky to secure a Champions League spot with Man City and Chelsea still to come at home, he wants his team to carry on approaching games in exactly the same way.

"Champions League next year would be fantastic and we've put ourselves in a great position," he said at his pre-match press conference.

"We've just got to go into the next seven games with the same attitude we have done [since I arrived here] — going into games with nothing to lose."
