Ole Gunnar Solskjær makes very honest Manchester United title admission

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits there is no reason why Manchester United fans shouldn't be dreaming of a serious Premier League title challenge this season.

United climbed to first place in the Premier League on Tuesday night as a goal from Paul Pogba secured a gritty 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

The victory for Solskjaer's side extended their unbeaten top-flight run to 11 matches as they leapfrogged reigning champions Liverpool ahead of their meeting at Anfield this weekend.

United are top of the table in January for the first time in eight years and could theoretically stretch their lead to six points if they beat Jurgen Klopp's side on Sunday, along with other results going their way.

After a mixed start to the season there is still a large section of the media not getting carried away by United's run of form, with Solskjaer another figure who is staying grounded.

However, the Norwegian coach has given supporters right to dream by drawing comparisons between his own shock return to Old Trafford and their unlikely title charge this season.

"If I had asked you three months ago, honestly, would you have dared to dream that Manchester United could travel as league leaders to Anfield in January?" a reporter from Norwegian outlet TV2 asked Solskjaer.

"Well, I'm a dreamer you know," the United manager replied.

"So... I dreamt about having this job too, and I've got it now.

"And there weren't many who believe that either.

"But you yourself need to have faith."
