Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'makes transfer decision' over two Manchester United defenders

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will give Eric Bailly another chance to prove himself ahead of next season, but are looking to replace Ashley Young, reports say.

Bailly found himself in and out of the team last season through a mixture of form and injuries, and has been ruled out of the Africa Cup of Nations for the Ivory Coast this summer after suffering an injury against Chelsea in April.

But ESPN report that Solskjaer has apparently cooled his interest in Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly, and is hoping Bailly will be fit enough to travel to Australia for the first pre-season games in July with the idea he will earn his place in next season's first team.

Instead, the report claims United are going to prioritise the signing of a right-back to compete with Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot.

Young featured 41 times last season, but Solskjaer reportedly wants a new right back in place for 2019/20 - and Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a target according to ESPN.

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia) claim that Romelu Lukaku has agreed a five-year deal with Inter Milan worth €7.5m per year before bonuses.

With Antonio Conte very likely to take over at Inter, it seems the former Chelsea striker could join the ex-Chelsea boss at the San Siro.

Another Gazzetta dello Sport report says the Belgium international has agreed to take a pay cut to move to Inter after travelling to Milan ‘a few weeks ago’ to meet with members of the Nerazzurri board, where he allegedly agreed contract terms.

However, The Daily Mail  has added that Inter are yet to make a formal bid for the Belgian, amid uncertainty that they can match United’s reported £75million valuation of the player.
