Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes surprise admission about Manchester United against West Ham

West Ham United were on the receiving end of a gutting defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

The Hammers had looked relatively in control for much of the game with few of Manchester United's star men able to stamp their authority on it.

Despite that, Pellegrini's side were left struggling to make the most of their chances, especially Michail Antonio who was a constant pest for Man United after coming on in the second half.

Felipe Anderson was the only man to find the back of the net from open play all game, but one of his two finishes was chalked off for offside.

The Red Devils needed two penalties, one far more controversial than the other, to steer their way past West Ham.

Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was understandably pleased with the result after his side were so unable to create a route past Lukasz Fabianski but wasn't sure that his side deserved three points.

When interviewed by BT Sport after the game he said: "We got three points. I’ve stood here away from home, especially the Wolves and Arsenal games, where I’ve been pleased with the performances, we’ve played well and created chances but didn’t get what we deserved.

"The last two games here against Watford and now West Ham, we’ve probably got more than what we deserved but it will even itself out over the season."

The Norwegian wasn't the only one to suggest that the hosts were not good value for their win, with Manuel Pellegrini agreeing with him when he spoke to BT.

He said: "Not only even a point, I think three points would be deserved.

"It was a pleasure to see how we played today against Manchester United at Old Trafford, I think it was a very good performance but unfortunately we got nothing."
