Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United are a 'better' side when they have Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch.
The Portuguese ace was in fine form over the international break as he netted another four goals in just two matches, including three against Luxembourg which saw him became the first male player ever to score 10 international hat-tricks.
Ronaldo, 36, was controversially dropped to the bench for United's last match as they dropped points to Everton in the Premier League and he cut a frustrated figure as he stormed down the tunnel at full-time after being brought on as a substitute.
When asked if United could actually afford to drop Ronaldo again Solskjaer admitted his side were 'better' with him on the pitch but reiterated the need for squad rotation.
"He's an exceptional player, exceptional finisher, goalscorer, exceptional pro, it's hard to leave him out and I think everyone would love to, how do you say, if you can go and play six games in six days and play the same XI every time," Solskjaer explained at his press conference.
"It's great but rotation, we need to get to April/May with everyone firing. We got to May in the final stretch of last season and we were too tired. I manage the players for the club. it's nice to have him on the pitch, he'll always come up with the goods.
"The more we have him on the pitch, the better."
