Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes Amad Diallo prediction as Manchester United confirm transfer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Amad Diallo has all the raw attributes to become an 'important' player for Manchester United, though warned it will take him some time to adapt to his new surroundings.

After initially confirming the deal on deadline day of the summer transfer window, United officially unveiled Diallo as their own player on Thursday after acquiring a work permit for the youngster.

Diallo has put pen to paper on a deal which will run until the end of June 2025, though there is an option for a further year.

United have been tracking the highly-rated teenager for some time and believe him to be a future option on the right wing, even though he has only played five senior games so far in his career.

Solskjaer is excited by Diallo's potential but admitted the Ivorian will need time to acclimatise to life in a new country before he makes an impact.

"As a club, we have followed Amad for a number of years and having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game,” the Norwegian said.

“Manchester United has such a proud history of developing young players and everything is in place to enable Amad to reach his potential here.

“It will take time for him to adapt but his speed, vision and fantastic dribbling ability will stand him in good stead to make the transition. He is a player with all of the raw attributes that are needed to be an important player for Manchester United in the years to come.”
