Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led his Manchester United charges to Spain on Saturday, as the Red Devils gear up for their upcoming battle with fellow top four hopefuls Chelsea.
United face Frank Lampard's side a week on Monday, taking on the Premier League's current fourth place side, while they themselves currently sit in seventh spot.
Solskjaer's side will prepare for the Stamford Bridge showdown with some warm weather training during their winter break.
United are heading to the Kempinski Hotel in Estepona for a week long camp, and will use the facilities at the Marbella Football Center - a venue often preferred by Bundesliga teams during the German top-flight's own period of suspension.
Solskjaer and his men flew out from Manchester Airport at lunchtime, using the new private terminal, with Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe back among their number after injury.
However, they were without Paul Pogba - rehabbing in Dubai - Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo and Lee Grant, the veteran third-choice goalkeeper who has stayed behind to undergo surgery, and a number of other stars.
“Marcus and Paul are not ready yet to join in the training,”
“Lee Grant unfortunately has had an injury, so he will require surgery, so he will be out for two or three months, so hopefully he’ll get back before the end of the season.”
Also missing from the 20-man squad were David de Gea, Bruno Fernandes, Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
However all weren't part of the travelling party having spent time away this week and will be meeting up with the squad in Marbella this weekend.
It was deemed unnecessary for them to return to Manchester for the meet, when each could navigate easier paths to Spain after their respective breaks.
On the subject of McTominay and and Tuanzebe - neither of whom have played since December - Solskjaer offered: “Scotty has done better in his recovery than we thought, so we will take him with us.
“Hopefully he can join in the training sessions and Axel as well, he’ll join in, so that’s two positives and it’s a good chance for them to use this time with the players."
Solskjaer earlier confirmed why new boy Odion Ighalo would not be travelling, following his recent arrival from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.
United are wary over border regulations relating to the potential spread of the Coronavirus, and the potential for rules changes which could see border restrictions tighten on travellers who have been in China within the last 14 days.
“Odion will stay in Manchester, because he arrived from China in the last 14 days,“ said Solskjaer.
”Because of the situation in China, we're not sure if he'd be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again, so he's staying here working with a personal coach, individual programme and his family then can settle in England as well. That's a plus.
“Of course he might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them, but the risk [of potential border restrictions tightening], we don’t want to take that."
One new signing who was in attendance however was youngster Nathan Bishop, the England Under-19 stopper signed from Southend.
