Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has accused Jurgen Klopp of influencing referees to not give Manchester United penalties.
Solskjaer felt Cristiano Ronaldo should have been awarded three spot-kicks in United's 2-1 Premier League win at West Ham last weekend.
All of the penalty appeals were turned down by referee Martin Atkinson, as well as VAR, with Solskjaer now having turned his sights on Klopp.
The Liverpool boss complained last season about the number of penalties United were awarded, claiming they had been given more in two seasons under Solskajer than in his entire Anfield tenure.
And Solskjaer said Klopp's comments had served to unduly influence officials, claiming referees have been reluctant to give United penalties ever since.
“We just have to hope we get what we deserve,” said Solskjaer. “We should have had three penalties in the last two games.
“There was a certain manager who worried about us getting penalties last year and after that the decisions were difficult to give.
“I've seen a big difference since then on. So leave it to the refs and make the right calls very soon.”
Solskjaer praised United 'keeper David de Gea for the form he has shown this season that has seen him reclaim the No.1 position from Dean Henderson.
“He did call me in the summer to end his summer holiday earlier and come back and start his pre-season before,” said Solskajer.
“He wanted to be ready and be the best possible version of himself. Last season was a challenging one, he didn't play as many games because Dean came in and did very well.
“David has really worked, focused, physically and mentally he's better, and when you feel you've done the work, it gives you more confidence and motivation.
“He plays behind a strong back four, but to play in front of David when he's in this form is good for them.”
Solskjaer confirmed Edinson Cavani is back from injury and in the squad for Saturday's game against Aston Villa. He said: “He's in the squad tomorrow, he's been training and now he feels ready to contribute.”
