Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has two transfer targets in mind to replace Romelu Lukaku at Man Utd

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified two strikers to replace Romelu Lukaku at Manchester United, according to reports.

Lukaku joined the Red Devils from Everton back in 2017 after then boss Jose Mourinho parted with £75million to land the Belgium international.

But things haven't worked out for Lukaku, who fell down the pecking order under new United boss Solskjaer last season, and is apparently set to be sold this month.

Inter Milan, who are managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, are at the front of the queue to sign the forward, although United's £80million valuation is proving to be something of a stumbling block.

Whether the Italian giants will stump up the cash, United lower their asking price, or the two clubs come to an initial loan agreement remains to be seen.

But Red Devils manager Solskjaer is already looking at possible replacements for the forward, and two names have cropped up.

According to the London Evening Standard, Lille forward Nicolas Pepe and Lyon striker Moussa Dembele have both been identified as targets.

Pepe has attracted attention from Liverpool in recent months after a sensational season in France, while former Fulham and Celtic striker Dembele also enjoyed a great campaign in Ligue 1.

Solskajer has made two signings this summer landing Daniel James from Swansea and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for a combined £68million.

The bank is not completely empty but you feel Lukaku would need to be sold first before either Dembele or Pepe could be brought in.
