Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has final word on Man Utd's January transfer activity

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has officially ruled out Manchester United making any signings this January transfer window, saying "don't stay up late!"

The Red Devils completed a number of signings in the summer bringing in Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani, Facundo Pellistri, Amad Diallo and Alex Telles.

Ed Woodward has previously pointed out that Manchester United consider the summer to be the window in which they complete their business.

And as the Red Devils are performing well in the Premier League, Solskjaer and co. will not be dipping into the transfer market this deadline day.

"I can confirm there won't be anyone coming in," said the Manchester United boss, when asked if the club will complete any last-minute deals. "So don't stay up late."

Manchester United are in the market for a centre-back, and have identified Jules Kounde as the perfect candidate to partner Harry Maguire.

The Sevilla defender will set the Red Devils back around £80million, and Solskjaer has been warned he must sell three players first before he'll get the funds to sign Kounde.

The three players on the chopping block are: Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero and Phil Jones.

The Argentine duo are certain to leave Manchester United if not this January then at the end of the season.

Jones hasn't generated any interest this January, despite being frozen out at United and seemingly available to sign, but received a boost from Solskjaer this Monday.

Suggesting we could see the centre-back in the second half of the season, the Norwegian told reporters: "Phil [Jones] has been recovering from a knee injury, an operation he had.

"He will be included on [Manchester United's squad] list and hopefully he'll get his fitness back sooner rather than later and be available to play."
