Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already told Chelsea what he will do during Man Utd match

There was something of a surprise in the Manchester United starting lineup for the game with Chelsea on Sunday.

The two big-hitters face off against one another at Stamford Bridge on Super Sunday, with Thomas Tuchel unbeaten since arriving in west London.

Tuchel might have expected to face a United team with Anthony Martial in it, but that has not turned out to be the case.

Martial has been a regular feature of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's United side this season, playing 32 times for the Red Devils in all competitions.

But Solskjaer has preferred Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James as his front three in west London, with Martial having to make do with a place on the bench.

However, Tuchel and Chelsea will face Martial at some point in the game, with Solskjaer telling the Blues of his plans for substitutions ahead of the clash.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of kick-off, he said: " Mason has done well. We thought Mason was going to play, so you’ll probably see Anthony during the game anyway, I’ve got good enough forwards to choose from."

It is unusual for a manager to give away his plans for during the game ahead of kick-off, with most preferring to play their cards close to their chest for fear of giving anything away.

It could just be mind games, however, and Solksjaer may not use Martial at all.

Time will tell.
