Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Manchester United matchwinner Scott McTominay as the Red Devils progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
McTominay's fifth minute header was enough to beat Championship side Watford at Old Trafford on Saturday night, as the Scottish international followed up his two goals in the opening three minutes of the 6-2 pre-Christmas win over Leeds with another early strike.
Solskjaer had handed academy product McTominay, 24, the caprtain's armband before the game, with Harry Maguire old named as a substitute, and he was thrilled to see him take the responsibility to break into the box.
"Scott has had a very good season," Solskjaer told BBC Sport's Match of the Day.
"He is being more and more dangerous, we know he can be a box-to-box midfielder.
"He should have scored a few more on set-plays before now because he is a monster of a human being. I am very happy he got the goal."
McTominay ultimately handed over the armband to Maguire when he came on for the injured Eric Bailly shortly before half-time, but Solskjaer was delighted with the leadership the midfielder showed.
"He did [deliver] he always does," the Norwegian said in a separate interview with BT Sport.
"He’s a leader but I thought maybe today we give it [the captaincy] to him to see how he reacts wearing the armband. He’s always out there leading the way but brilliant today.
"We’ve always trusted our young men coming through and Scott is one of them that we really believe has got the DNA of Man Utd in him and he knows what it is to be a Man Utd player."
