Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fires warning to Man Utd side who "didn't deserve" win

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned his Manchester United side to learn from their late disappointment while claiming they "probably didn't deserve three points".

The Red Devils had cancelled out an early Southampton goal to lead 2-1 heading into injury time.

Three points would've seen United go above Leicester and Chelsea into third place and put themselves in pole position for the Champions League.

But Michael Obafemi's 96th minute leveller thwarted the Red Devils after James Ward-Prowse's corner was finished at the back post.

And Solskjaer has bemoaned the fact his inform side weren't able to hit top gear at Old Trafford.

"It was the worst time to concede a goal but it happens in football," said the Norwegian. "We have won so many games in that way. It is all part of the learning for this team.

"You think you have three points in the bag but we probably didn't deserve three points today. Southampton are a good team, they run, and run and chase.

"We never got into our rhythm today. We played some fantastic football at times. The two goals we scored were very, very good.

"I don't think tiredness the case. It was just one of those days we did not take our chances and they took theirs. David de Gea had one really good save but apart from that we had the bigger chances but you are not going to be given three points and Southampton are a very good side.

"I know my ankle would not take that challenge (Oriol Romeu on Mason Greenwood), it was a nasty one. We have said enough about VAR.

"We defended well until that corner. It is disappointing but that's football. I know the feeling the other way as well."
