Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appeared to fire a shot at Premier League bosses after Europa League final opponents Villarreal were handed an advantage of ahead of Wednesday's clash.
The Red Devils wrapped up their domestic campaign with a 2-1 win at Wolves on Sunday, though second place was already secured before the game at Molineux.
Solskjaer named a youthful team for the clash against Wolves, clearly keeping one eye on the fitness of the side he has in mind to face Villarreal on Wednesday.
But the Norwegian was still clearly annoyed that the Spanish side had an extra day to prepare for the match in Gdansk, with Villarreal finishing their La Liga campaign yesterday.
Speaking about his selection, he said: "Yeah of course we've got Wednesday in mind.
"I thought it was quite poignant [sic] that La Liga move all their games to the day before so Villarreal can play their full strength team just to prepare for the final.
"I think we could look after ourselves more as well, could get some help. So I had to make these changes."
United skipper Harry Maguire was once again absent for the trip to Wolves, and Solskjaer said that while he would be part of the travelling squad, things weren't looking too promising.
"Still walking very gingerly," he added of his captain. "He's travelling of course. I'll give him until Wednesday afternoon to decide on that one but I don't hold my hopes too high."
Dean Henderson was given the nod to play in goal ahead of David de Gea on Sunday, but Solskjaer insists that is no indication of who will feature on Wednesday.
"No it doesn't but Dean is ready for a game again," Solskjaer replied when asked if it meant De Gea would start the final. "David played the previous one.
"Dean's had a very good season and I want him to show his personality and quality behind a team that's not played too many games together. We played a similar one against Leicester, it'll be a test for him."
