Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finds surprising ally over Manchester United job in ex-Arsenal hero

Former Arsenal star Perry Groves has hit out at Manchester United after announcing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their permanent manager and suggested their rivals will be ‘delighted’.

The Reds confirmed Solskjaer as their official boss on Thursday on a three-year deal but Groves insists the club will struggle under the Norwegian’s leadership.

Solskjaer has helped turn around United’s fortunes since taking over from Jose Mourinho in December initially on a caretaker basis. From being infected by Mourinho’s negativity, Solskjaer has brought back the optimism at Old Trafford.

But it’s the Norwegian’s relative inexperience as a manger which has led Groves to say that the club’s rivals will be happy about the confirmation. Groves firmly because the Red Devils will not enjoy success during Solskjaer's tenure.

“Solskjaer has signed his new contract and all the United fans are delighted, but so am I as a Gooner,” Groves told talkSPORT .

'Incredible!' Arsenal fans can't get enough of Alex Iwobi's piece of skill during training

“I don’t think they’ve got any chance of winning the title while he’s their manager. He doesn’t have the skill set or the experience.

“When it comes to November/December time and all this joy and euphoria has died down, our listeners can tweet in to me.”
