Ole Gunnar Solskjaer facing selection headache as six injured Man Utd stars miss training

A whopping SIX Manchester United players were absent from training ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Partizan Belgrade.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to be without Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic, Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Angel Gomes, leaving the Norwegian with something of a selection headache.

Luke Shaw, meanwhile, trained separately from the group and also looks set to miss out.

Injuries have plagued United's season as they have struggled in the Premier League, having won just three of their opening 11 fixtures, leaving them five points above the relegation zone and a staggering 18 adrift of leaders Liverpool.

A 22-man squad trained at Carrington on Wednesday, with Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams, Ethan Laird, Tahith Chong and James Garner all putting in a shift.

The youngsters are all in contention to play this Thursday.

Manchester United can secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa League with a win over Partizan at Old Trafford.

As things stand the Red Devils top Group L on seven points after three games played.

Below them sit AZ Alkmaar on five, Partizan on four and Astana who have lost all three of the matches they have played so far this season.
