Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains what he expects from Man Utd stars vs Man City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has used his programme notes ahead of the Manchester derby to set out what he expects from his Manchester United players.

The Red Devils face their bitter neighbours on Wednesday night with their hopes of reaching the Premier League top four in the balance.

United are three points adrift of Chelsea in fourth with four matches to play in the hunt for a Champions League place.

They have seen their hopes dwindle with three defeats in their last five league matches, including a humbling 4-0 at the hands of Everton on Sunday.

And Solskjaer has told his players to fight and put their bodies on the line at Old Trafford against Pep Guardiola's title challengers.

"We have two huge, exciting games at Old Trafford this week and, if we're going to get what we need from them, we have to fight," Solskjaer wrote in his programme notes.

"It's as simple as that.

"You don't win anything without fight, so we're going to have to put in some huge shifts between now and the end of the season.

"It hurts to win football games. Nobody gives you points for free; you have to put your body on the line and leave everything out there on the pitch, and that's exactly what I want to see from the lads tonight."
