Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains Manchester United team selection vs LASK

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Manchester United have fielded a strong enough side to deal with facing LASK in the Europa League.

United are in Austria on Thursday night for the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 match, with the game to be played behind closed doors.

Solskjaer had made five changes from the team which defeated Man City at the weekend with Anthony Martial missing out on a place through injury.

United are currently on a ten match unbeaten run in all competitions but know they will need to be at their best to defeat a LASK side who are currently on their longest unbeaten run in Europe.

The task is made even harder by the strange circumstances of the match with the game being played in front of an empty stadium, due to fears about the spread of coronavirus.

Solskjaer will be keen to see his side avoid defeat on Thursday night and speaking ahead of the match he confirmed his team selection.

"I feel that we are fielding a strong team and the players are ready," Solskjaer told MUTV. "The ones who didn’t play on Sunday, they wanted to be a part of that one as well, they want to show they are ready to play in this team.

"There a couple of players that had to stay back home with injuries, but that is part and parcel of the game.

"The players are prepped and prepared. (LASK) are a direct team, loads of running, play a certain way. Very hard to stop them high up the pitch, we are ready for anything they throw at us."
