Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains how Manchester United preparations changed before Liverpool FC game amid protests

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised his Manchester United players for their adaptability after the club changed their pre-match plans ahead of the rescheduled match against Liverpool.

United play the last of three matches in five days on Thursday night when they welcome Jurgen Klopp's side to Old Trafford in a match which was originally meant to be played 11 days ago.

The original encounter was postponed after vast fan protests outside the team hotel and Old Trafford, with further protests taking place ahead of the rearranged fixture this time around.

Hundreds of United fans once again congregated at the club's stadium on Thursday evening, while another group of supporters attempted to block the Liverpool bus from reaching the ground.

In an effort to avoid another cancellation United arrived at their home ground as early as six hours before kick-off on Thursday and Solskjaer has praised his players for reacting so well to the situation.

"The players have been getting better at adjusting, adapting" he told MUTV.

"The last few months it's been like 'wait and see what happens'. Ever since the start of the pandemic they have coped really well with any changes. They have been resting here at the stadium today, preparing."
