Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains four changes for Manchester United vs Norwich

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said a desire to introduce fresh minds into Manchester United's team was behind his decision to make four changes to the Reds' starting XI against Norwich.

Harry Maguire, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial all start against the Canaries, with Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James dropping out.

Solskjaer said to MUTV: "There's a bit of rotation there, some fresh legs, some fresh minds, some experience of course with Nemanja and Juan, so hopefully we can get the benefit from that."

On Maguire's return after the central defender missed Tuesday's loss to City, Solskjaer explained: "We felt he was close to playing against City as well during the week. That's why we gave him until the last minute. He just couldn't and he felt he wasn't going to give 100 per cent but today he's ready."

Marcus Rashford makes his 200th appearance for United against Norwich and Solskjaer was full of praise for the 22-year-old before kick-off.

"He's a top talent," Solskjaer said. "He works incredibly hard, he works on his game all the time, trying to improve and he's one of them that you think, 'does he need a rest?' - he never asks for a rest.

"He just wants to go and go and go, and good going and hopefully we can keep going. Giggsy was playing until he was 41 wasn't he? So lets keep Marcus just focused on improving all the time."
