Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects Paul Pogba to miss Manchester United's clash against Newcastle

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects to be without Paul Pogba and four other first team regulars for this weekend's game against Newcastle United.

Pogba has been a notable absentee from four of his side's last six games after picking up an ankle injury against Southampton back in August.

While Anthony Martial (thigh), Luke Shaw (hamstring) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (illness) are also set to miss the game at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon, as well as Jesse Lingard, who picked up a hamstring injury in United's draw with AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday night.

"I don't know," Solskjaer said on the possibility of some of his missing stars returning against United this weekend.

"Let's see on Saturday morning. Probably not [Pogba], there's an international break as well, it might be time for us to give him 10 or 14 days extra to be ready for Liverpool."

The Manchester Evening News believe that this will be United's probable squad for this weekend's encounter: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Ashley Young, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo, Brandon Williams, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, Daniel James, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford.
