Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drops hint over Manchester United team to face Luton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Manchester United will make changes for tonight's Carabao Cup encounter at Luton Town.

United are looking to secure a first competitive win of the season, after a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace at the weekend.

MEN Sport understands goalkeeper Dean Henderson is in line to make his first United appearance, while others like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Nemanja Matic and Fred - who did not feature against Palace - could be called upon in Solskjaer's starting line-up.

“We’ll make some changes,” Solskjaer confirmed while speaking to United's official website.

“Of course we will. For some, it’s the pre-season and, for some, they’ve only been here for a week now for different reasons. Some of them need game-time, they do and we can see we’re lacking in sharpness. We just need to make the most of the training sessions and games we have.

”No injuries, no fresh injuries after that game [on Saturday] but, as I said, we’ll rotate and give some minutes. Some, after the game, will do some harder training this week to get ready for Brighton. Some will join the squad and go down there.”

Solskjaer is wary of the threat posed by Nathan Jones' Luton, who have won four straight games in the Championship and Carabao Cup so far this season. But he also urged his fringe players to take their opportunity and put on a convincing display at Kenilworth Road

"They've started really well and they finished last season well too," Solskjaer said of Luton. "They've beaten Norwich and Reading to get here, and Derby and Barnsley in the league.

"It's a big game for them playing Manchester United but it's a big game for many of our players too, they want to get in the team."
