Ole Gunnar Solskjaer criticises UEFA over Barcelona matches in Champions League

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has criticised UEFA over the scheduling of the Champions League quarter-finals.

United will face Barcelona in the second leg of their quarter-final at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night.

Solskjaer's men lost the first leg 1-0 at Old Trafford before returning to winning ways in the Premier League with a fortunate success over West Ham .

But the Norwegian has questioned the decision to have just five days between the two quarter-final legs.

"We have a game on Tuesday night too which may have played on the player's minds," he said.

"But I'm not sure why we played last Wednesday and then we play next Tuesday. That is my little complaint to UEFA.

"Playing on Wednesday, and today and again on Tuesday played a major factor. It’s a juggling act but I and we got away with it today.

"We rested a couple, thankfully, we got through it and we will be ready for Tuesday.

"With a performance like this we all know we will struggle in Barcelona, and we will have to improve."

How Man Utd's win over West Ham affects Premier League top four race

Solskjaer praised David de Gea for his display with the United stopper making a flying save to deny Michail Antonio.

"We got away with it, got three points, in a few years no-one will remember how we played if we finished in the top four," he added.

"You’re allowed to have a good keeper, he is a fantastic keeper, if they score they could have gone on to win. Then we had to gamble, bring on the kids and introduce more energy, at that stage they were better team."
