Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that new signing Facundo Pellistri will step up his game time with the Under-23s.
The 18-year-old signed from Penarol on transfer deadline day and made the bench for United's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain last month but is yet to make his debut for the club.
Supporters got to see their first glimpse of the highly-rated Uruguayan in Under-23 action against Everton on October 23.
With Pellistri still adapting to life in England and his new surroundings at Old Trafford, Solskjaer has confirmed that the teenager will step up his involvement with the Under-23s and will play against Brighton & Hove Albion in their next Premier League 2 match on Friday.
“He’s a young boy coming over and it’s all new for him,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told ManUtd.com.
“He’ll need a few games in the Reserves, of course, to try to find his feet in a new country.
“It’s been very positive so far and he’s someone we’ll be patient with and we’ll give him time to settle in and get used to us. You’ll see him in the Reserves, probably in the next game.”
After his debut against Everton, academy boss Neil Wood told MUTV: “It was 'welcome to England!'” Wood told MUTV after the match.
“But it was great for him to get 90 minutes on the pitch and a first taste of English football. I'm sure he can build from this experience.”
