Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Mason Greenwood is facing a battle to be fit for Man Utd's clash with Crystal Palace on Thursday.
The striker has been in blistering form for United in recent matches, but could miss the crucial league tie after picking up an injury in Monday's draw with Southampton.
Greenwood was the victim of a late, gruesome tackle by Saints' Oriel Romeu, which the midfielder somehow managed to escape punishment for.
Despite playing on after the first-half challenge, Greenwood is now a doubt ahead of the weekend, along with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams who were also injured in the fixture.
But Solskjaer remains hopeful the youngster and his teammates will all be available.
"I'll give Luke as much time as possible - him and Mason, their ankles are swollen and a bit blown up," Solskjaer told MUTV.
“I’ll give them as much recovery time as possible to give them a chance.
"Brandon should be fine, he has a gash over the eye but if he can see out of it then...
"We've not trained obviously this morning yet but we'll hopefully have two, maybe all three of them."
Greenwood had hit four goals in his three previous matches before the match with Southampton, with United looking in particularly rampant goalscoring form.
He could even be a doubt for the FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea on Sunday.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville said at the time of Greenwood's injury that Romeu had "tried to do him", and Solskjaer feels referee Chris Kavanagh should perhaps have taken action.
"In the heat of the moment he'll [Greenwood] play on and adrenaline gets you going, and then you get a little bit of reaction after.
"I said after the game that my ankles were a bit weak after many years of football.
“But obviously Mason carried on and I think it should have been looked upon by the referee definitely."
