Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims Marcus Rashford’s form is bringing back memories of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United breakthrough.
England striker Rashford has scored 13 goals in his last 14 games for club and country, and saw another against Aston Villa ruled out by the Dubious Goals Committee.
His penalty in the 2-1 win against Manchester City on Saturday saw him equal his best ever return for United, taking his total to the season to 13.
Solskjaer challenged Rashford at the start of the campaign to prove he can be a 20-goal-a-season forward – and he is rising to the challenge with his outstanding contribution with crucial strikes against Liverpool, Leicester, City, Chelsea and Tottenham.
It is reminiscent of Ronaldo’s sudden emergence as a prolific goal-scorer in 2006-07, after frustrating in his first few years at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer said: "It's very easy to compare the two of them. Both with skills, body shape, attitude, attributes - everything.
"The boy has every chance in the world to become a top, top player. Let’s hope he continues like this.
"I don't want to talk about the amount of goals.
"As long as he keeps being positive and being direct and thinking about getting in front of the goal and getting chances, he'll score goals."
