Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Fred was 'outmuscled' for Everton goal versus Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained that Manchester United were 'outmuscled' for Everton's equaliser.

United lost possession from their own corner shortly after the second half began and Everton proceeded to swiftly counter-attack -something they were regularly causing danger with - when Fred attempted to stifle Demarai Gray's roaming run forward.

Gray seemingly outmuscled Fred and his challenge wasn't successful, which proved costly when Andros Townsend scored.

That goal condemned United to a 1-1 draw and questions have been asked of Solskjaer after yet another underwhelming result.

"We didn’t concede many chances today but we connected a goal," Solskjaer told BT.

"So sometimes we have to deal with one or two moments and we didn’t. They break, they counterattacked and we got outmuscled and we should have cleared it - that’s every game in the Premier League.

"You can work all day long on the system and defending but it has to be dealt with there and then."

Solskjaer' made five changes for the visit of Everton and his decision to drop Cristiano Ronaldo and to play Anthony Martial baffled some supporters, however, to the latter's credit he was one of United's better players on that day and he scored the opener.
